Can a news app have style? Download the News Feed app by Crowded Road and you will see that the answer is yes.
With its navy and white color scheme and san-serif fonts, News Feed has a crisp, professional feel to it that is very appealing. Its power-chic design is not its only strength, however.
The app is an excellent news aggregator, assembling the top news stories from the best news outlets in the world. Touch on the settings icon at the bottom of the screen, and you can select your news sources category by category. Jump back to the main screen, and you will find no more than five headlines under each source, which keeps the app from getting overwhelming.
In the Politics category, for example, you can chose to receive news from Slate magazine, The New York Times, Daily Kos, and the Drudge Report, among others.
In addition, each category includes several buss-worthy subcategories. Within Tech, you can chose to read about Web 2.0, Mobile and Apple. In the Business category, you can specify Finance, Marketing or Economics.
The app also lets you post and read comments on various news stories, a nice touch not frequently found in other news-related apps.
