New parents can now tap into the elegant and informative WebMD Baby app wherever they travel. Like many new parents in particular and human beings in general, WebMD is the first place I turn to learn more about what might be ailing family members (or me.) While the trusted site can never fully replace a medical practitioner, it offers a wealth of information and advice to ease my mind and inform any potential conversation with our pediatrician.
Of course, I don’t always have access to a desktop whenever my son stumbles into a boo boo. Now, when he skins his knee at a park or spits up something in the car, I can turn to the free WebMD Baby app for advice and peace of mind.
Using WebMD Baby, which is currently only available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, is a snap. Upon downloading, users are treated to a cute animated instructional video that showcases all of the app’s features. From there, simply fill out registration information for you and your child (including birth date and gender), and receive customized and curated articles, videos and tips.
As a parent of a two-year-old, I’m provided tips about caring for an earache and what traits to look for to see if its an infection, insight into how my son repeats everything I say and why I should put a nuzzle on my salty tongue, and inspired articles with titles like “Is Dirt Really Good for Kids?”
WebMD Baby also integrates with your phone’s native camera app to capture relevant pictures and videos and pull files from your library. There is a comprehensive journal section which includes a “BabyBook” photo diary, growth and diaper-changing trackers and timers to plan and schedule feeding and nap time.
New parents can rest easy with this great app.
