New iPhone apps worth downloading: StumbleUpon! update, Livestream for Producers, Sneakpeeq

Here are three great iPhone apps to download. StumbleUpon! got a nice refresh today which not only offers a new look but extended functionality as well. Livestream for Producers is a great app for anyone who wants to broadcast anything directly from their iOS device. Finally, we’ve got Sneakeeq which adds a social element to shopping to help you drive the prices down.

StumbleUpon! update (Free)

What’s it about? The easy way for people to explore what’s interesting and relevant to them across the web just got a tasty new update.

What’s cool? There’s the new StumbleDNA element at the top of the screen which is a visual representation of who you are on StumbleUpon! Colors represent different interests that you follow and showcase what you like most. Now it’s easier than ever to see what’s trending and your activity feed. Also, there’s the new “slide” feature which adds another dimension to the Stumbling experience.

Who is it for? Fans of StumbleUpon! will appreciate the new app design and features. But if you’ve never tried it, the app learns each member’s unique tastes and recommends great content from across the Web.

What’s it like? StumbleUpon! is a great way to gather information on topics that interest you. Pinterest hasn’t been around as long, but it works in a similar way and offers a more visual format.

Livestream for Producers (Free)

What’s it about? This app enables people to broadcast ad-free directly from their iOS device.

What’s cool? Sitting alongside the original Livestream app, the new Livestream for Producers app offers a large array of tools allowing more people to discover your event, interact with it or share it across the web. You can manage your account, create event posters, post video in real-time, moderate comments and a whole lot more.

Who is it for? Livestream for Producers is perfect for people who prefer to make videos rather than just consume them. It’s a very capable app for folks sharing coverage from conferences or events, and it can be used at rallies or demos or from live music shows (with permission, naturally).

What’s it like? Video broadcasting/streaming apps like Ustream and Ustream Broadcaster offer similar functionality, as do Justin.tv and Veetle.

Sneakpeeq (Free, iPad)

What’s it about? This iPad-only app offers products from over 3,500 independent brands, but you only get the best prices by banding together with your friends to drive the price down.

What’s cool? This is a great-looking iPad shopping experience. You need to “peeq” to see the price of an item and the more you share, browse and shop, the better discounts you get – call it “incentivized shopping” if you like.

Who is it for? Sneakpeeq’s “gamified” and personalized approach to e-commerce will appeal to many shoppers, and it’s especially good for people who love to share. The more you do that, the more rewards you get in return like free shopping, discounts and other perks.

What’s it like? Clearly sneakpeeq isn’t the first app out there to socialize the shopping process or offer rewards for browsing and sharing, but its tablet-based interface sure is pretty. Both Fab.com and Svpply offer nice discounts on shopping items, but don’t offer the same social element as Sneakpeeq.
