New iPhone apps worth downloading: Redd – reddit client, Robbers, Skateboard Party 2

Today’s first app worth downloading is designed to help Reddit users get the most out of the Internet’s huge community sharing site. It’s Redd, a Reddit client that makes it easy to browse, post and comment on threads and subreddits. We’ve also got Robbers, an endless runner in which players try to loot a museum while avoiding the guards, and Skateboard Party 2, a 3-D skateboarding title that’s all about scoring points by doing sick tricks.

It’s a lot like wandering Reddit in your browser, except that it you get a clean, minimalist user interface that prioritizes content over flashy design. What’s it about? Endless runner Robbers tasks players with stealing as many valuables as they can while evading guards by dodging security sensors and obstacles.

What’s cool? There are tons of gems ripe for the stealing in casual endless runner Robbers, and you’re just the thief to nab them. The game sends players into a side-scrolling museum filled with boxes, scaffolds, statues and guards, and you’ll need to avoid the obstacles in order to grab as much loot as you can before you’re caught. The gems you earn can be used to purchase additional gadgets, like smoke bombs, to help you make your escape, and new costumes to customize your thief’s look. There are also a number of missions to complete as you play to help mix up the experience.

Skateboard Party 2 ($1.99)

What’s it about? Perform as many tricks as possible to earn points and take down achievements in Skateboard Party 2.

What’s cool? The ultimate goal in Skateboard Party 2 is to be an awesome skateboarder. Playing the 3-D game from a third-person perspective, players skate around the eight game areas, doing tricks off half-pipes and ramps, grinding on obstacles, creating combos, and basically racking up all the points they can manage. You can also take on friends and other players in multiplayer trick-battles across an Internet connection, and work to master 40 different kinds of tricks and skills to drive up your scores.

Who’s it for? Skateboarding fans and players who like arcade titles that are all about the scores will want to grab Skateboard Party 2.
