There’s tons of streaming to be done with today’s first two apps worth downloading. Up first is the updated Rdio, which provides a huge amount of music to stream and which now supports streaming for users even if they don’t have a subscription. AT&T’s U-Verse app also has been updated to allow streaming TV shows. Over on the games front comes Transport Tycoon, a simulation title that’s all about building a transportation empire.
Rdio update (Free)
What’s it about? Stream music and other audio content to your iOS devices with Rdio, divided either into radio stations or by the track.
What’s cool? Rdio is part Internet radio, part giant song database. The service includes more than 20 million music tracks to play, which users can stream straight to their iOS devices after they’ve fired up a subscription with the service. There are also radio stations that bring Rdio’s content to users, arranged by genre and other categories, so that you can get a little variety if you’re not sure exactly what you want to listen to and when. With the app’s latest update, there’s a little something for users who aren’t ready to spring for a subscription – namely, free stations you can stream with Rdio to your device. The app also now supports sharing stations, and you can create your own stations based on an album or aritst.
Who’s it for? If you’re looking for a new way to listen to music on your iOS devices – even without a subscription – try Rdio.

U-Verse update (Free)
What’s it about? Take control of your AT& U-Verse DVR using the official iOS app that goes along with the service – and watch TV on your device, as well.
What’s cool? For a long time, AT&T’s U-Verse app mostly just provided a way to let you control your U-Verse DVR box when you weren’t nearby. You can use the app to program and edit recordings and view upcoming TV listings, or even use your iPhone or iPad as a remote control for your TV. But the app is more than that thanks to its latest update, which brings even more functionality to U-Verse subscribers. Now you can also stream TV shows through the U-Verse app to your iPhone or iPad across an Internet connection, so you can watch TV even when you’re not watching TV. The update also improves parental ratings and controls, as well as the app’s user interface, among other things.
Who’s it for? You’ll need to be a subscriber to AT&T’s U-Verse cable service to get the benefits out of the U-Verse app.
What’s it like? Do some more streaming with a subscription with Netflix, or for free with Crackle.
Transport Tycoon ($6.99)
What’s it about? Simulation title Transport Tycoon tasks players with creating a business empire of trains, planes and automobiles.
What’s cool? As the name suggests, Transport Tycoon is a simulation title that focuses on the transportation industries, tasking players to build the highways, train lines and other important structures in order to connect cities, move cargo and passengers, and create a huge, thriving business. Your impact on the world in Transport Tycoon allows you to turn small towns into big cities through the connections you create with your infrastructure, and you’ll need to effectively choose and use more than 150 vehicle types for every situation. There’s also a challenge mode packed full of specific scenarios to check out as well
Who’s it for? Fans of simulation titles will enjoy Transport Tycoon’s depth and challenge.
