It’s Raved, a recommendation engine that brings you lists of cool places that your friends and other users you trust have recommended. If you’re looking to kill time, you’ll want to grab Infinity Blade III, the flagship sword-fighting game that’s just been updated with a huge amount of new content. Finally, we’ve got Doom & Destiny, an old-school role-playing game with a parody story about four nerds who have to become heroes.
Raved (Free)
What’s it about? Discover new places to go thanks to the recommendations of your friends and people you trust with Raved.
What’s cool? Raved is a recommendation engine, focusing on showing you not what people think of where businesses near you when you’re already there, but rather, suggesting where you should go – because negative reviews aren’t as useful as positive ones. The app lets you follow the recommendations of your friends and post your own “raves,” and also funnels out suggestions in your area made by influential people, as well. You can port in your friends from Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare to get recommendations you trust, and everything you “rave” gets saved in a personal info directory so you can easily find those places again later.

Infinity Blade III update ($6.99)
What’s it about? Battle through intense sword duels in the latest entry in the Infinity Blade series, the biggest of the franchise – and which just got bigger.
What’s cool? As with all the games in the Infinity Blade series, Infinity Blade III is about the continuing struggle of protagonist Siris against his world’s corrupt immortal rulers, the Deathless. Players fight through huge, beautiful locales by defeating enemies in a series of one-on-one sword battles, and Infinity Blade III has tweaked the formula by allowing players to work through various areas and to pick between Siris and his new ally, Isa, in various levels. There are also other new customization features, and the continuation of the series’ “Clashmob” multiplayer mode that lets players pool their battles against enemies so that everyone gains rewards. Infinity Blade III’s first big update adds lots of new content in the Soul Hunter expansion, with a new mission, more weapons and items, and new features.
Who’s it for? If you like action games that show how great a smartphone game can look, Infinity Blade III is for you.

Doom and Destiny ($2.99)
What’s it about? A parody role-playing game with a classic style, Doom and Destiny is about four nerds who are drawn into a fantasy world.
What’s cool? The main characters of Doom and Destiny, described by the developers as four nerds, have been swept into a fantasy world and been mistaken as heroes. They’re forced to question to destroy an evil villain across a 20-hour story (with another 20 hours of side quests) that’s filled with jokes and craziness. The game pays homage to titles such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, with 2-D, 16-bit graphics and a similar gameplay to classic role-playing titles, and includes tons of content to go along with its wry humor.
Who’s it for? Role-playing game fans who like classic titles should check out Doom and Destiny.
