We’ve got three updates to three great apps to lead your new apps haul this week. First up is Qwyrk Mobile, an app that lets you send song clips, sound effects and music quotes in messages to friends, or add them to status updates on social networks. Second, we’ve got Delectable Wine, an app for wine connoisseurs that includes the ability to scan wine labels and get information about every bottle, and share your favorites with others. Finally, there’s Badland, an action-adventure game in which players guide cloned creatures through deadly obstacles.
Qwyrk Mobile update (Free)
What’s it about? Qwyrk Mobile lets users send messages with music, sound effects and music quotes.
What’s cool? Ever wish you could send a text message with a soundtrack, or infect a friend with the song you can’t get out of your head? Qwyrk Mobile makes that possible, allowing users to add sound effects, songs and music quotes to their messages. The app includes access to more than 3 million song clips, and allows you to browse through them based on title, artist, and even what mood you’re trying to evoke. You can send your messages through Facebook, Twitter and email, and Qwyrk allows you to either send to a specific person or to post songs and sound effects as status updates. Its latest update brings in a new user interface to make sending messages easier, as well as adds new content for users to share.

Delectable Wine update (Free)
What’s it about? Quickly identify, save and share the wines you drink and enjoy with Delectable Wine, an app that’s part scanner and part social network.
What’s cool? Delectable Wine is a tool for wine lovers that has practical uses, as well as some social components. On the practical side, it allows you to identify wines by snapping a picture of the label and using the app’s online database to identify things like wine maker and vintage, and you can use Delectable to remember the wines you’ve enjoyed, as well as to rate them. On the social side, Delectable functions as a social network for wine lovers, allowing you to tell other users about the wines you’ve liked and those you haven’t, and see recommendations from other people in the community. You can also use Delectable to re-order any wine you’ve liked and have it delivered right from the wine maker. The app’s latest update includes curated recommendations based on the wines you like, and accurate, info-filled wine profiles.

Badland update ($3.99)
What’s it about? Guide groups of flying creatures through side-scrolling levels filled with deadly obstacles in Badland.
What’s cool? In Badland, you control a small flying creature that’s trying to navigate through tons of strange levels littered with things that can kill it, and while your only control is to tap the screen to make your character flap its wings, your only defense against the various things that can destroy you are to move carefully and bring lots of clones. Power-ups littered throughout Badland change your creature’s size, speed and shape, making it sticky, slick, bouncy, huge and tiny. You’ll also find power-ups that clone you, and your goal is usually to save as many of yourself as possible by the end of each level. The latest update to Badland adds seven new levels to play through, along with several improvements to the game and bug fixes.
Who’s it for? Fans of casual action-adventure-type titles with an endless-runner feel and lots of atmosphere should check out Badland.
