WinZip full version ($4.99)
What’s it about? Condense your files for easier sending and downloading with the mobile version of WinZip, which allows users to encrypt, compress and view files in a number of formats.
What’s cool? Receive an email attachment as a .rar file on your iPhone and there’s a very good chance you won’t be able to access it – unless you have WinZip. The app allows you to download and view condensed files like those in .zip or .rar formats, and you can also use it to condense your own files to make them smaller for sending across your Internet connection. You can download and save files from emails into a special My Documents folder, and the app also lets you share the documents you encrypt with other users on Twitter and Facebook, as well as by email.
Who’s it for? Users looking for a better way to condense, send, download and view files should check out WinZip.
What’s it like? There’s also a free version of WinZip users might consider checking out, as well as iZip.
Knightmare Tower ($0.99)
What’s it about? Climb a tower filled with monsters in arcade title Knightmare Tower, which takes a page from vertical scrolling games, but adds a lot more action.
What’s cool? There are princesses that need rescuing in Knightmare Tower, and you’re just the rocket-riding knight to help them. Your goal is to get as high in the tower as you can, and to do so, you’ll catch a ride on a rocket that propels you vertically through the building. But to keep up your speed and momentum, you’ll need to slice up the many flying monsters that come after you by tapping on the screen and descending on them with your sword. The more enemies you slice without falling down the tower, the bigger a combo you’ll build up, which will eventually help to rocket you even higher. You can also earn coins that can be traded for a ton of upgrades to help along the way.
Who’s it for? Players of casual titles who like engaging arcade games that are great for killing a little time should check out Nightmare Tower.
What’s it like? There are a lot of similar mechanics in titles like Jetpack Joyride and Doodle Jump, so give those a look as well.
