Here are three great iPhone apps to enjoy. Indie Shuffle offers ad-free curated music playlists with no listening limit. It’s a great way to discover some new music in a variety of genres. Everpix finally emerged on iPad and provides a convenient way to store all your photos in the cloud so they’re accessible from anywhere. Also, there’s an update to business app Podio, which also offers iPad support, and makes the project management software even more productive.
Indie Shuffle (Free)
What’s it about? Indie Shuffle is a music app that provides curated, ad-free playlists based on similar artists and genres.
What’s cool? It’s almost like Pandora on steroids. Users can start a playlist by selecting a specific genre, simply browse the “popular” list, or check out Indie Shuffle’s latest recommendations. What’s more, each song also has a thoughtful review written by one of the company’s staff writers.
Who is it for? IndieShuffle should please music fans everywhere. Don’t be put off by the word “indie” in the title, Indie Shuffle contains loads of different genres including hip-hop, electronic, folk, remixes and more. It’s a great way to discover new artists with no ads and no listening limit.
What’s it like? As mentioned above, the service is not dissimilar to music discovery services like Pandora Radio or Spotify, but with a less commercial vibe. It harnesses SoundCloud’s platform in a unique way.
Everpix HD (Free)
What’s it about? The photo backup and storage service finally arrived on the iPad after its initial iPhone release earlier this year.
What’s cool? The idea behind Everpix is to help you spend time enjoying your photos rather than organizing them. Though the service costs $4.99/month (with a free 30-day trial), the storage space is unlimited. Everpix stores all your photos in the cloud and pulls them in from services like Flickr, Instagram and Facebook. They’re organized automatically, easy to share and look great on the iPad’s Retina display.
Who is it for? Everpix is perfect for people who upload images to a lot of different services. It keeps them all in sync, and the unlimited storage space means you never have to worry about running out of room. Your photos will be pretty much viewable from any device, too.
What’s it like? There are plenty of photo-sharing services out there like Flickr, 500px and Photobucket, as well as numerous cloud storage services like Dropbox, which recently added automatic photo uploads.
Podio update (Free)
What’s it about? Podio is another app that just added iPad functionality to its recent update. Podio is designed to automate work tasks and help businesses become more efficient.
What’s cool? The update extends Podio’s core features (which includes workspaces, tasks, activity streams, meetings and calendars) to the iPad. The more-than 700 pre-built apps from the Podio’s App Market are now available to iPad users, too.
Who is it for? Podio is great for project managers and it can also empower people to work from anywhere on any device. Its collaborative tools, social features and document management capabilities are all very powerful.
What’s it like? There are other business project management iPad apps like iScope and Project Planning Pro available on the iTunes App Store.
