Though it’s not as particularly useful as most of the other apps we feature in Apps Worth Downloading, Häagen-Dazs Concerto Timer is worth a little attention just for being a nifty little idea. The augmented reality app is specifically designed to be used with actual ice cream containers – you aim your iOS device’s camera at the lid of a Häagen-Dazs carton, and it activates an image of a violinist playing a concerto. The idea is that the ice cream is best experienced after letting it soften a little, and the concerto doubles both as a timer for how long you should let the ice cream sit to thaw and a bit of entertainment for you as you wait.
Who’s it for? Since you need a Häagen-Dazs container in order to use the app, Concerto Timer is aimed at customers who enjoy the company’s ice cream.

Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs of the Dragon (Free)
What’s it about? Management title Dragons of Atlantis requires players to rebuild the lost city of Atlantis and raise a huge dragon from an egg to maturity, in order to use it against their enemies.
What’s cool? Dragons of Atlantis sends players to the titular lost city, where they discover an ancient dragon. Thought extinct, the creatures were trained by the Atlantians as defenders, and as you rebuild your city building by building, your ultimate goal is to train your own dragon to be a powerful force on your side. Like other free-to-play management titles, Dragons of Atlantis requires players to build structures that produce resources and other necessities, and has you waiting for timers to expire before your buildings can be constructed or forward progress can be made. As you build up your forces, you can work through a story campaign that has you fighting to take back Atlantis from savage monsters, and you can join up with other players to form alliances and become more powerful.
