Convo update (Free)

What’s it about? Collaboration app Convo helps you stay in touch with your work team when you’re away from your desk, giving you the capability to communicate with one another and share things between you.

What’s cool? Convo is basically a private, professional social network just for you and the people you’re working with. It’s specifically designed for things like collaboration and quick communication, so adding the team with which you work to Convo gives you chat functionality and the ability to share images, documents, and more over the social network, eliminating the need for lengthy email threads and other confusion. You can respond to specific posts within Convo to start conversations, and the app’s latest update improves lots of different elements to make it faster and more useful.

Who’s it for? Professionals and small groups who want a social network all to themselves should try Convo.

What’s it like? Social networking app Avocado is a bit like Convo, but for just couples, and Path keeps your network small on purpose to make sure you’re sharing with only the people who really matter to you.

LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes ($4.99)

What’s it about? Legendary heroes Batman and Robin take on villains such as The Joker and Lex Luthor with the help of a whole mess of other superheroes in the latest foray into the LEGO games.

What’s cool? First, LEGO Batman’s original story brings together a whole host of notbale characters from the DC Universe. In fact, there are more than 80 characters players can choose to use throughout the course of the game. It’s also the first time in any LEGO game that the “minifigs,” those blocky LEGO people, actually talk. With fast-moving action-adventure gameplay, lots of cool moves and abilities for Batman and his pals, and a huge number of villains to battle, LEGO Batman has lots to offer DC fans and LEGO junkies.

Who’s it for? DC fans should have a particularly good time with LEGO Batman, but the LEGO games are generally good fun for everyone, kids and adults alike.

What’s it like? Check out the LEGO Harry Potter games – Years 1-4 and 5-7 – for more LEGO-based fantasy fun.

AVP: Evolution update ($2.99)

What’s it about? Take on the role of either the iconic and lethal Alien or the deadly, vicious Predator as the two creatures duke it out in a mobile version of their lengthy, series-long battle.

What’s cool? Video game fans are likely aware of the several great Alien vs. Predator games out there, and AVP: Evolution moves the fight to mobile platforms. A third-person action game that mixes elements of stealth, melee combat, sick weapons and eating bad guys’ heads, it features two full campaigns. One from played as an alien, the other as the predator. Each creature has its own unique set of abilities and fighting styles, and the game’s latest update adds new weapons for the predator, new missions and a new alien character to try out.

Who’s it for? Fans of both franchises should check out AVP: Evolution, but it’s a bit gory and probably not great for kids.

What’s it like? Grab Predators to spend a little more time with the hunting alien, and Dungeon Hunter 4 for something a little bit similar.
