With the release of Lady Gaga’s new album comes ARTPOP, the companion app of the same name that lets Little Monsters create art, listen to music, and interact with the Gaga fan community. It leads today’s Apps Worth Downloading, followed by Call of Duty, a second-screen app for one of the biggest video games this year, which lets users manage clans and even provides a second screen during multiplayer matches. Finally, in the games department comes Sorcery! 2, a choose-your-own-adventure-styled game that’s heavy on story, which adapts to your choices as you move through it.

What’s it about? The companion app to Lady Gaga’s album of the same name, ARTPOP allows fans to create art, interact with one another, and listen to the album if they have it stored on their devices.
What’s cool? Get into the music and the community of Lady Gaga’s latest album, ARTPOP, with the companion app of the same name. The app lets you play the album if you’ve downloaded its tracks to your device on a virtual turntable, and also will play tracks in the background as you create your own animated gifs to share with the Gaga fan community. You can see what other users have created, as well as chat with other fans, and ARTPOP will add additional features next year, including “live DJ sets” and some kind of video-related event.

What’s it about? Use the Call of Duty official app to keep up with your friends even when you’re not logged into the game, to send messages, adjust loadouts, and see scores.
What’s cool? November marks the yearly release of one of the biggest game franchises of the year, and with the newly launched Call of Duty: Ghosts comes the Call of Duty app. The app actually lets you play along with the game’s multiplayer modes in a number of ways, whether you’re right there playing or not. You can square off against other clans in Clan Warfare and earn in-game bonuses next time you log in, or use your iPhone or iPad as a second screen while you play, to edit the loadouts of your squad or monitor the map of a multiplayer match. You can also check out the latest news and events, and use the app to manage your clan when you’re away.
Who’s it for? This one is definitely aimed at the most avid of Call of Duty: Ghosts players, although you don’t have to be in a clan of other players to find it useful.
What’s it like? Other great game companion apps include Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Companion and the Battlefield franchise’s Battlelog.

Sorcery! 2 (Free)
What’s it about? Explore Khare, the Cityport of Traps, in Sorcery! 2, a story focused game in which the narrative is built on the fly around your actions.
What’s cool? Like Sorcery! before it, Sorcery! 2 is something of a choose-your-own-adventure story, beautifully realized with hand-drawn graphics and maps. The game is filled with choices that players make as the story unfolds, and the narrative adapts to those choices over time. You’ll need to use the game’s “rewind” mechanic to fix choices that don’t go your way, but what you chose to do in the first Sorcery! game, if you played it, will carry over to this one – and your choices here will continue to haunt you going forward, as well. You’ll also engage in combat and cast spells, and you can also participate in a new gambling minigame as you venture through the city.
Who’s it for? Players who like role-playing titles and games heavy on narrative and choice will want to check out Sorcery! 2.
What’s it like? If you haven’t played the first Sorcery!, this is a good chance; you might also check out Trial of the Clone for more choose-your-own-adventure storytelling.
