Men’s Health Magazine offers a fine app to get the most out of your workouts.
The $1.99 app includes 21 pre-loaded workouts and more than 150 exercises. Each activity includes step-by-step photo instructions, helpful for reminding users of proper form.
This app is ideal for trying new workouts and that’s how I’ve been using it. If there’s a drawback, it’s that video-based instructions are not included. Perhaps Men’s Health can include that when it upgrades the app.
You can log your workouts in detail, with an in-app timer and weight and repetition meter for workouts or individual exercise. All data can also be sent via email.
A useful feature is the addition of a free workout each week, helpful for people who get stuck in work-out ruts. Further, users can download specific routines from the Men’s Health Web site directly from the app. Those routines cost extra, however. “Build A Beach Ready Body” sells for 99 cents while an abs package sells for $1.99. Plenty more are available
For a few bucks, Men’s Health Workouts is worth the download. Even if you just learn a few new workout, it beats paying for a personal trainer.
