New kid on the block for daily flash sample sales is Fab.com, a shopping site centered upon, well, pretty fabulous items, particularly those with cool or innovation design. Fab.com has been name-checked frequently on the ’net lately, at least when it comes to my Twitter news feed, and the ecommerce recently launched the iOS universal app Fab.com Design Inspirations & Sales to make nabbing the fabulous ever faster.
Users will need to have a Fab.com account to use the app. I’m not sure if the service is still employing invitation-only registration, but having an account before you download will save you potential disappointment if that’s the case.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to see all of Fab.com’s currently running sales (you can also filter by sales ending soon or view upcoming sales). Tapping into a sale will show all available items as well as an expandable designer description. Items can be viewed individually as well, with item descriptions and additional images. Users can purchase items directly in-app, which is ideal for not missing out on hot items when sales start. There are also built-in sharing items so you can let friends know about cool items or brag about your latest buy. Push notifications will also remind you of new sale starts.
Fab.com’s app isn’t breaking any new ground — its format is identical to the many other flash sale apps available, but that’s OK. If it ain’t broke, right?
