The arts festival South By Southwest (commonly known as SXSW), can be overwhelming if you’ve never been to it before, but the best way to deal is to know what’s on tap. Luckily, there are two iPhone apps out this year to help inform you about the latest happenings at SXSW.
On the SXSW Play iPhone app is pure fun. One particularly cool feature is that you can browse films or music by genre as well as by artist. Another plus is once you click on a band or artist, you can listen to an mp3 of theirs, even better than just looking at a bio. And, saving the best for last, the iPhone app has a “discover” feature. Pictures of bands/films fly across the screen of your device, offering you a taste of what each is like until you eventually click on one, pulling up a bio, pic, etc. Endless hours of fun right there.
