Unless you are interested in reading hundreds of tweets from total strangers about largely forgettable movies, I would recommend bypassing the free Movie Buzz app.
The main page of Movie Buzz includes a scrolling list of the Top 10 box office flicks, which this week included mind-numbing movies such as “Vampires Suck” and “Piranha 3D.”
Make a selection, and you are guided to another scrolling screen filled with tweets that reference the movie. Now, if these tweets were from movie reviewers or entertainment insiders, and shed some sort of light on the film or its production, they might be worth reading.
However, most are useless statements such as “Going to see ‘The Switch’ with mom,” or “‘Lottery Ticket’ sucks!” or my personal favorite, “I like my version – drink, puke, drink.” Now who wants to waste their time reading tweets like that?
The best part about the app, and by best I mean the worst, is that many of the tweets don’t actually have anything to do with the movie they are categorized under; they just happen to have one or more of the key words.
