BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week
My kids really like the brainpop jr movies. My picky picky 4 year old even tells me now about how to make a healthy plate of food (it should be half veggies and fruit mom…). At least he understands the *theory*, lol!
Word Wagon HD – by Duck Duck Moose
My 4 year old has been choosing this one over other early reader/phonics programs, for over a year now. Nicely done app.
Montessori Crosswords – Fun Phonics Game for Kids to Learn to Sound Letters & Alphabet
Another nicely done early reader app. Fun and visually appealing.
Tozzle – Toddler’s favorite puzzle
Not sure how very educational this one is, but my 4 year old LOVES it.

Leafsnap
This is more for me to use, and to show to the kids, as it is not aimed at kids for their solo use at all. Very good way though to get them identifying leaves this fall!
iBird Lite Guide to Birds
We just picked this one up–I love the birdcalls. Free, and even if my kids just look at and id a cardinal and a bluejay and their calls, that it so cool!!

The Grouchies by Debbie Wagenbach (HD)
Found this free app–good for cultivating emotional intelligence. Not very sophisticated technologically at all, but good content by the APA. Worth a quick read every once in a while to remind the kiddos everyone suffers when we let the grouchies take over!!!!
Noah’s Memory Match
well, maybe their are better matching games out there, but I grabbed this one and we like it every once in a while. My kiddos seem to prefer playing memory match games offline, and when on the ipad they’d rather choose something else more new to them. But this is a nicely done app, I’ve kept it on and sometimes play a quick game myself. 🙂 I find it relaxing!
