Momento iPhone app catalogs life’s moments

As they say, life is but a series of moments, and d3i’s Momento iPhone app ($2.99) is designed to help you capture those details and events.

Momento is not a diary, per se — it’s not meant to hold lengthy passages you might otherwise post on your Livejournal or private blog. Rather, Momento makes it easy to jot down details of an event, a place or a humorous occasion. You can add up to eight photos to a post and you can tag entries with names, places, events—whatever you want—to make searching at a later time easy. In addition to adding moments of your own, Memento currently supports updates from Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Last.FM, which will import automatically once you enter your credentials. (Twitter’s API only supports the upload of the past 3,200 tweets when you get started.)

Momento’s slick, gorgeous design makes it easy to see your private moments alongside your social networking activity. You can set up a password to make sure no one can access your private thoughts, and while Memento can import information, it will never post anything to your social networking sites.

If journaling your daily activities is something you’ve ever thought about—be it in a Moleskin, a Xanga or a hardback diary with a tiny gold padlock—Momento is more than worthy of your $3.
