John Paczkowski at AllThingsD has got the scoop: on Thursday, Oct. 4, Apple will hold a big media event featuring new CEO Tim Cook. It’s very likely that the new iPhone will be announced here, and knowing Apple, perhaps some other surprises.
While this is yet to be confirmed by Apple, and the date could be subject to change, AllThingsD has a pretty good record when it comes to getting major scoops on upcoming Apple events.
When the next iteration of the iPhone will actually go on sale hasn’t been confirmed of course, but it’s likely to be within a few weeks of the October media event, if previous history tells us anything.
Though we’ve had some pretty in-depth previews of what to expect from the upcoming iOS 5, the new iPhone (and how many of them to expect) is still shrouded by speculation and rumor. Here at Appolicious we will, of course, keep fueling those flames and bring you further news as it’s announced over the upcoming weeks.
Stay tuned.
