March Madness On Demand iPhone app brings the tournament to your iPhone

Your brackets are complete. Now it is time to watch all games in this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

While there are scores of apps that deliver scores, stats and pool ranking information, the best place to watch all the live action on the go is with the

The brand new app also offers radio coverage from Westwood One of every game, all for $9.99.

Possibly the biggest news regarding the video coverage is that unlike many similar iPhone apps, you can stream the games via a Wi-Fi, 3G or EDGE connection. Radio streaming also works with all three connections.

NCAA March Madness on demand also covers the basics. This includes a news stream, scores and team analysis from CBSSports.com. If you filled out a bracket on that Web site, you can also track it within the iPhone app.

Further, the app also has video highlights and alerts that can be set for specific teams or for upsets, buzzer beaters and overtime games. There’s plenty of content and features in this iPhone app, even when you consider its price.

The iPhone app has a very basic design that is simple to navigate. It is somewhat surprisingly much different than CBS Sports Mobile — and more pleasant to use. This is likely due to the fact that this iPhone app focuses on a single event while Sports Mobile is more of a Web site in iPhone app form, but whatever the reason, it is better.

There’s also a lite version available that is free, though it doesn’t provide either the video or audio features. It might be a handy iPhone app to have, especially if you have a bracket through CBSSports.com, but it’s not that special and nothing you haven’t seen before.

The full version, though, is something special. While you can watch your games via Wi-Fi, the fact that this iPhone app works with 3G and EDGE connections as well is absolutely huge.

Sure, $9.99 might seem like a lot of money for an iPhone app that will be obsolete in less than a month. But given March Madness On Demand’s plethora of content and multimedia features this will be – at least for the next month – the best $10 a sports fan will spend.
