Between the workload and the irritating colleagues, office environments can be stressful. It’s easy to dig into your stash of chocolate bars in order to find a little relief, but you might want to try a healthy alternative, like yoga.
The 10 Minute Office Yoga app (99 cents) is designed to relieve tension in the neck and back, all while still at your desk. The app includes nine simple yoga exercises that can be performed without drawing attention to yourself.
Each of the nine exercises includes a still photo of a woman holding the pose, as well as audio instructions for how to complete the exercise. There are also written instructions for each exercise. And you have the option of listening to relaxing music along with the instructions, or silencing the music.
The app also includes a handful of helpful tips, including how to relax your breathing.The app might be a little more effective, however, if it included actual video demonstrations. Audio descriptions might not be useful to everyone, especially those completely new to yoga. And there is no background information about the practice of yoga, or why it helps relieve stress.
