Groupon – Deals, Coupons & Shopping: Discounts on Local Restaurants, Events, Hotels, Yoga & Spas
I’ve been receiving their emails for some time now, and the app just makes it that much easier to check in and see where my daily deals are. Groupon offers some AWESOME discounts on things you’ve been dying to try, and some things you’ve never heard of. But half off things like aerial yoga classes, full body massages, and dinner dates? Awesome.
LivingSocial – Deals on Restaurants, Spas, Hotels, Concerts and more
Pretty similar to Groupon, but with different deals offered to different places. I wouldn’t say that one of these over the other offers any more value, but having more places to try at half cost? Win-win situation, right?
DuckDuck
New to the game, Duck Duck Deal is a Boulder-based company (local shout-out from this Boulder girl!) and offers more frequent, yet not as significant deals as Groupon and Living Social. A lot of these deals are Buy One Get One types or “Save $10 on a $30 purchase.” Local businesses can work with Duck Duck Deal to have their deals tweeted out and available on the iPhone app. One of the real solid benefits to this one is that you can open the app from anywhere and get a listing of nearby places (much like Foursquare does when you check in somewhere), and you can see if there’s some place near by with a deal. Available only in Boulder now, but rolling out elsewhere soon!
Coupon Sherpa: Free Coupons & Shopping App
Finally, Coupon Sherpa is an app to help you save money on everyday products in the places you shop the most. Deals are available at clothing retailers such as Aeropostale and Gap as well as bookstores, restaurants, etc. This is also location-based in that you can allow the app to use your current location and find coupons at shops and restaurants near your location at that exact moment.
