Alfred does the whole restaurant recommendation thing, too, but it provides awesome recommendations for bars and other nightlife related business. Also, it is one of the FASTEST apps I’ve seen in a while.

Movies by Flixster, with Rotten Tomatoes
I’ve tried Fandango, but I love that Flixster’s app had access to Rotten Tomatoes reviews and ratings. This is my go-to for finding showtimes for the nearest movie theaters.
