LivingSocial’s Daily Deals iPhone app will save you money across the U.S.

LivingSocial, one of the many group-based deal services that have emerged in recent memory, has been in the iTunes App Store for a while, but the LivingSocial Daily Deals’ new update makes the free app worth a download — if you haven’t grabbed it already.

Like its compatriots, LivingSocial relies on the power of group spending in order to save its customers big money on a new daily specials around town. Although you can browse deals by specific metro area via the app, the LivingSocial service is available in more than 60 markets. I love that the app goes beyond your primary city and directly shows you deals in a nearby city. That means I’m able to view deals from Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis and Iowa City, all at once, without any additional work. All of the cities you subscribe to appear in the “My Cities” section, so it would be almost impossible for you to miss out on a killer deal.

The LivingSocial app syncs with your existing account, so you can start purchasing deals through the app immediately. Deals you grab, including previously purchased coupons, will display in-app, and are available for redemption digitally. That’s great for people like me, who have printers perpetually out of ink. LivingSocial will push deals to your device, so you can bypass reading emails, too.
