Not only is iLibrary + Audio good for reading, its technology for audio playback is designed to put you to sleep.
The bedtime controller is the app’s best feature. It slowly lowers the volume of the audio book to help the listener fall asleep. I didn’t think I’d initially like the bedtime controller, but I used if for several evenings, and each time I was out like a light.
While the program doesn’t have very many books yet (45, but only 41 include audio), titles are being added regularly. The book selection is mostly made up of classic titles such as “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” so don’t expect current best-sellers.
Another nice feature is its playback speed. If you like to listen and read, the narrator goes slowly enough for an average reader to follow along. It will even turn the page for you and start a new chapter. The app’s description boasts that you can read a whole book without ever touching the screen.
The download times are fast, and it only takes a few minutes for an entire book to load. There are other free reading apps that offer far more books, but iLibrary + Audio excels when you want to read a book with your eyes closed.
