Tap Tap Revenge is considered one of the most popular games for the iPhone, and developer Tapulous will only contribute to future success with its latest incarnation, Lady Gaga Revenge.
Gameplay of Lady Gaga Revenge is the same as the other Tap Tap apps: simply tap along to the beats of the song. As you continue to tap without missing a beat you’ll rack up bonus points; if you can keep the string going you’ll eventually reach “Revenge” mode. Shake the phone to activate “Revenge” and you’ll get a x8 multiplier to send your score through the roof. At times you’ll also have to shake the iPhone or iPod touch as indicated by arrows, but I prefer to keep that option off.
Lady Gaga Revenge includes multi-player mode and Facebook connect, and features a Lady Gaga news feed to keep you up-to-date on the artist’s latest antics.
Typically Tap Tap relies on three rails of beats, the patterns increasing in complexity and speed as the difficulty level raises. However, for the first time, this version of Revenge uses wide-screen mode for the boss tracks that requires using four rails and much more tapping.
I’ve quickly developed an obsession with this app, and in the hours I’ve spent tapping (it’s a sight on the bus) I haven’t had any problems with crashes or lags causing me to miss beats, unlike in other versions.
This app is a must for Lady Gaga fans and includes 14 of Gaga’s tracks; 10 from the hit album The Fame plus four remixes. Even casual Gaga listeners will have fun with this app because the songs integrate seamlessly into Tap Tap form, almost as if they were recorded exclusively for this game.
