iPhone app ($1.99) is perfect you. Simply snap a shot of every meal you eat and log it in this app by meal classification such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then, email your daily meal photos to your doctor so they can give you tips on how to improve your eating habits.
Frankly, taking a photo of what I’m about to devour is not going to keep me from eating it. If it looks good, I’m going to eat it. And somebody telling me after the fact that I probably should have eaten half the chocolate ice cream instead of the whole heaving helping, well, it’s just not going to work for me. And, the app doesn’t keep track of calories with the meals, so it isn’t going to be effective for cutting calories. You would need to download another app for that.
Perhaps, if I was touring Italy or France and wanted to keep a food diary of all the great dishes I tried along the way, then I would probably want to snap a photo and keep track of the lovely vacation meals. But whipping out my iPhone at lunch with my coworkers to keep track of portion sizes is never going to happen.
