In what is arguably the worst kept secret of 2012, Apple on March 7 will debut what Reuters reports to be a “new, faster iPad.”
The invitation-only event will be held at 1PM EST at the Yerba Buena Center of the Arts in San Francisco. While nobody knows the exact details of the iPad 3 (and anything else Apple might announce), a summary of rumors and expectations is as follows.
–There will be no home screen button, which may be a preview of a major design overhaul.
–A Retina display expected, and the device will likely be quad-core and boast a high-speed 4G LTE chip.
–The above improvements will yield improved graphics and a higher resolution.
Of course, an iPad 3 is one of at least three iconic devices Apple is expected to debut in 2012. We also expect an iPhone 5 or next-generation smartphone (as early as the annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference which falls in early June), as well as a full-fledged version of Apple TV.
Stay tuned.
