IQ Mirror+ is sort of a misleading title. The iTunes App Store description even admits as much, noting that “This is not a real IQ test, therefore you cannot find out your true IQ.” Which is good, because if my IQ was reflected in the scores I’m pulling down in IQ Mirror+, I’d be in serious trouble.
Regardless, if not an IQ test, the IQ Mirror+ is a fun, very simple puzzle iPhone game of sorts. The game gives you 60 seconds to create mirrors of the 4×5 light patterns on one half of your iPhone screen. Tapping one of the lights on your side of the screen makes it larger or smaller, depending on the size it currently is, and you have to try and replicate the row as it appears on the mirror side.
One light is the wrong size in every screen, and as soon as you identify and fix that light, the puzzle changes and you do it again. The “+” comes into the title because this paid version includes a second mode where you have to correct two lights per screen.
It sounds simple, and it is simple; but because the mirror puzzle is so subtly different from the one you’re fixing, it can become quite stressful as you frantically search for the out-of-place bulb. Unfortunately, that mix of excitement and anxiety is extremely short lived. Sixty seconds goes by in a flash and aside from a modest score, you don’t have a lot to show for it.
That’s not to say you’ll regret the dollar investment, but rather that IQ Mirror+ is simply exactly what it is and not much more. It is a frantic bit of fun for a very short while, and worth the dollar, but expectations here are best kept on the low end.
