Once only available on the Android platform, Dolphin Browser found its way to iOS last August, and has become a popular alternative to the stock Safari browser built-in to every iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
But today’s new update extends its functionality yet further by introducing voice search functionality for iPhone/iPod users called ‘Dolphin Sonar.’ Instead of typing, Dolphin Browser fans can tap the microphone icon or just shake their device and use their voice. Sonar lets users search the Internet, bookmark a website or even create a new tab.

The version 4.0 update is available now in the iTunes App Store, but it should be noted that while the app update is free, the voice search functionality of Sonar will cost you 99-cents.
There are other bug fixes in this latest update and a few more enhancements like font-size setting, ‘night mode’ and the ability to save photos to your iPhoto albums. The iPad version got updated too, but that doesn’t include the new Sonar voice feature just yet.
