I always love it when 8-bit games are released for the iPhone. They have something nostalgic about them and tend to offer some of the coolest art around. The Blocks Cometh is a simple app available in the App Store for cheap that challenges you to do one thing: Get as high as possible.
We’ve seen this concept in games like Doodle Jump already but TBC puts a new flair onto it. You move around as blocks are falling. The blocks will stack on each other both providing danger and also creating your only means of getting higher. You are only provided with a jump capability and an attack which is able to break blocks.
The controls can be customized to use either the tilt or onscreen buttons. At first I thought the buttons would be better but they didn’t allow for two actions at once so I decided to use the tilt. Definitely take a look at this game. It’s challenging fun for cheap.
