You are James Bond in mouse form. Your one and only goal is cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. To control him, you simply draw out a path from the mouse which he automatically follows. You have to sneak past the patrolling sentry kitties, get the cheese, and get out. The mechanics are all clever and add a lot to the game, from the portal mouse holes to mouse traps, chili that makes you run faster, and TV that hypnotizes the cats. Be on the lookout for cracks in the walls and doors, as these will lead to secret areas full of cheese crumbs. Each level presents you with three blue ribbons to unlock, unique to each level. They usually ask you to complete the level undetected or using a certain number paths or within a certain amount of time, general things like that. Going for ribbons makes you rethink the way you play certain levels, and they can be very rewarding challenges.
The art in this game is just fantastic. Everything is colorful and well done. The music and sound effects are great too. Eventually you happen across some semblance of a story, and there are even boss encounters which really mix things up. This game just oozes style and creativity, and I feel it’s far superior to Flight Control. Firemint has been picked up by EA, so naturally Origin is supported instead of Game Center. There are plenty of in game stats and achievements to track, and even a local multiplayer challenge mode. For just one dollar, this one is a steal. Check it out.
