I personally think the iPhone is the best complete phone experience a customer can buy even with some of its quirky service issues. But there are a few things that the iPhone can’t do (or won’t, depending on how you look at it) and that’s where awesome services like Google Voice come into play.
The service has had a rough relationship with Apple being denied entry into the App Store and even blocked in Safari at one point. But it seems those days are over. The Google Voice app has been approved and comes ready with all its awesome features and even push notifications.
If you don’t know what Google Voice is, look it up. There are some great videos explaining what it does. My job was to see if the app works well and it definitely pulls through. You can listen to and read your voicemails, make and receive calls, as well as send text messages.
The transcription is just as buggy as ever but as a whole, the app worked fine. If you have a Google Voice account, this app is a no-brainer. It’s nice to have a dedicated app finally.
