The goal of the game is to create chain links of four eggs by drawing lines between them. The first and fourth egg in a chain have to be the same color, while the middle ones don’t matter. After drawing your line, the entire chain disappears. This causes you to look at the board differently than most games, and it actually has quite the learning curve. There are several techniques to learn, such as stake-outs. Stake-outs involve creating a closed system of two or more chains, in which the first egg is also the last. These different techniques add a variety to the game that is actually very fresh coming from this genre.
Should you get tired of the main game, you can hop into Puzzle mode. Here, your goal is to eliminate every single egg on the field. Puzzle mode really tests your abilities and helps teach the ins and outs of the game, and there are one hundred levels to play. You can also take your skills online in multiplayer, except the population is low, so like me, you probably won’t be able to find a match.
Game Center leaderboards and achievements are supported. The gameplay and graphics solid, but I have several grievances. This is a paid, one dollar app, people are reporting Ponos ad banners hanging above the playing field. I don’t know how I got rid of mine, my iPhone’s Wi-Fi was being strange. To top it off, there are several other game modes, such as Endless and Mission mode, but they each also cost a dollar to unlock. I can’t imagine those single modes being worth the same amount you’ve already paid for the game, and it would cost you an extra four bucks to unlock everything. It’s still a very solid game, in the end, so feel free to give it a download.
