When camera apps first came out for the iPhone it was extremely fun to use filters and share right from the phone. Apps like Instagram or Hipstamatic offered a new way to use the camera and brought an awesome retro experience. One feature that was always missing from these apps was the ability to use the video features of the phone. Well now there’s an app that brings the coolness of retro video to the iPhone and iPod Touch. 8MM is strictly a video camera app that offers some great filters and camera emulations to give your videos a touch of old school.
Choose from black and white to sepia and split tones as well as the camera lens to make that perfect shot. The app even offers the ability to add a tape jitter for that extra authentic look.
Still, there does seem to be a few features missing, specifically the chance to view the community’s videos. Apps like Instagram offer a social network on top of their features but 8MM only shoots video. Still, it is definitely worth the price and totally fun to use. Check it out.
