The Mariah Carey-oke iPhone app ($3.99) is the first speech-detection karaoke game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I had to buy a special set of earphones with a microphone in order to play this game with my iTouch, but it was totally worth it. I love getting my diva on Mariah-style!
It’s a nicely-designed karaoke app and actually pretty challenging. It’s easy to follow thanks to a designated call line; once the word hits the line, that’s your cue. I found it much easier than the typical light up the lyrics as it goes karaoke. During the phrase challenges, the lyrics disappear altogether, so you have to be on top of your lyrical game.
The app comes with four of Mimi’s latest songs, which was actually a challenge for me since I’m an old-school Mariah fan. Newer fans will love this iPhone app for the songs and for the fun stuff, including tour information, photos and news.
