Robokill – Rescue Titan Prime is a top-down shooter that puts you in command of a well-armed robot attempting to fight off enemy droids. As you clear each room, you’ll earn experience, level-up, and earn cash that can be used to upgrade your robot. With fluid controls, top-notch graphics and sound and a ton of game content, this is definitely a game worth checking out.
Without going into much detail, your job is basically to clear out the enemy robots from the Mars station, Titan Prime. Each mission has a specific task, but the basic goal is to clear each room, surviving until you reach the goal room. Your robot can hold up to four weapons and four upgrades. You can attach a gun to each arm and leg. Upgrades consist of health packages and shields. Only certain guns are available to purchase at certain levels. For example, at first you can only use the light blaster. But, as you progress and earn experience, you will level up and have the option to purchase the medium and heavy blasters. You purchase these upgrades through the store, using the cash you’ve collected along the way. There are also tweaks on certain weapons that offer special abilities, such as hitting multiple targets, or having faster bullet speed. Enemies do fire back, and attempt to evade your fire, so it’s important that you do the same. If you get hit too many times and lose your life, the robots will take over two rooms that you previously cleared, and you’ll lose some cash.
The controls are fluid and responsive, consisting of two virtual thumb sticks. One controls the movement, and the other controls the direction of fire. As soon as you touch the right stick, all weapons will fire at the same time. So, you just have to worry about the direction you’re aiming.
There are more than 40 rooms to fight your way through in each of 13 missions. There is a ton of game content here that will keep you playing for hours. The great thing is that it doesn’t get boring. There are always new enemies and new weapons along the way. However, if I had to complain about one thing, it would be the slight lag that occurs when there are many enemies on the screen at one time. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s noticeable. Other than that, this is a well-polished game and a must-own for any fan of shooters.
