When you think of the iPad, what usually comes to mind are standard activities like browsing the Internet, playing games, or watching videos. There are literally hundreds of things to do with the device but one thing I can’t say I ever expected to do was build my own cartoon. Toontastic is an app that took me completely by surprise and ended up as the entertainment for an entire night.
The app provides you with the tools to create your own story complete with animations, music,backdrops, and the most important part, your voice. It guides you through the process of making a decent story and eventually let’s you publish it for the world to see. I thought it was amazing that it supported multitouch so you and a friend could build one together.
Overall, the app was obviously built with children in mind but it seriously has contributed to some of the most fun I’ve had in a while with an app. Definitely check this one out and have a good time building your own story. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop creating.
