iPad App Video Review: FarmVille by Zynga

Whether you like it or not, the name Farmville is instantly recognizable by a ridiculous amount of people. The game took the world by storm offering a one hundred percent casual experience with almost no competitive draw at all. For those who somehow don’t know, Farmville is a free game offered on Facebook and now on iOS devices like the iPad where users grow crops, plow land, and do a lot more farm-related tasks.

There is essentially no point to doing this aside from the social experience and simple goals. With the introduction of the popular game onto the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, Facebook users everywhere can take their farms on the go to always stay on top. The app allows for push updates so you can instantly know when a crop is ready. Though this was the first time I have ever created a farm, I was able to see a friends farm and check her progress on the screen.

The controls were simple and easy but one issue I did notice was that the app needs to be in sync with the Farmville servers and would occasionally lag or even crash. Other than that, this app was free and really needs to be experienced to really understand what it is.
