iPad App Video Review: Cover Orange

Small puzzle games are dominating the App Store. Assault puzzlers like Angry Birds have taken over, but you never really see anything stray from the concept. That’s why Cover Orange HD caught my attention. The game isn’t about knocking things down or launching anything. Instead, your goal is to protect the oranges on the map by covering them with the tools available.

The game starts out simple: use a box to cover the orange. But pretty soon you’ll be building complex machines to propel the oranges into safety. Just like most games of its type, the player only has a few objects to work with but can reset and try again as many times as they would like.

The sounds and graphics in the game aren’t anything too special, and it definitely lacks the Angry Birds flare. But the puzzles can be as challenging as ever into the later levels and will really test your problem-solving skills.

For a game based off the free online version, you’re getting a fun experience. Check it out if you need a new game, but know you can easily play it for free online.
