Although you might not need a how-to-make-coffee app, a how-to-make-espresso app faces its own problems. Namely, that homemade espresso feels like a bit of a luxury, as I know many more people with their own simple coffeemakers than I do with their own espresso machines. For those with their own espresso machines, Spro is here to give you some tips on making your own drinks.
The instructions Spro doles out are simple, usually no more than four or five steps, although the process can still be confusing if you’re not familiar with the terminology. Words like tamping, pulling and frothing come up frequently.
Lucky for novices, one of the best features of Spro is its glossary of terms that not only explains the espresso vernacular, but provides a brief lesson on the history of espresso, in addition to advising what sort of beans and machines exist in this advanced coffee world.
The glossary is immensely helpful and informative, and should get even espresso amateurs on the right path to brewing their own cappuccinos before very long.
The recipes, on the other hand, probably would benefit from some added pictures. Spro does have some cool-looking outline-style illustrations that point out certain aspects of a given machine as it relates to a recipe, but something with more practical purpose might be beneficial as well.
If you already know your way around your espresso machine, and you just want some new ideas for drink recipes, Spro does a decent job of providing a dozen or so delicious-sounding drinks to get you going.
