I haven’t fact-checked this, but there are Jamba Juice’s everywhere. And in the places that don’t have a Jamba Juice, there are smoothie-selling knock-offs.
So, yeah, smoothies are popular. So popular there are several smoothie apps for the iPhone, including Blender – a 99-cent app from Arthur Anderson that will have smoothie aficionados foaming at the mouth.
Blender is a list of smoothie recipes–112 as of the latest update. There are a couple of other things included, such as a smoothie store finder and a shopping list, but the emphasis remains on the recipes.
They are conveniently divided by ingredients – there’s even an alcoholic smoothie section – and the company says they will continue to add recipes with each update. The app also includes a link where you can submit your smoothie recipe to Blender.
I started at the top with an Apple Banana smoothie, and it was very good. In a lot of ways it was just like the app–not over-the-top great, but good.
The shopping list is little more than a notepad, a nice addition but it seems a little pointless to me.
But again, this app is about the recipes. As long as Blender continues to add new ones, I can’t imagine why any smoothie-lover would be disappointed.
