The Weather Channel – local forecasts, radar maps, storm tracking, and rain alerts – weather.com
This basic free app will help you monitor the weather and keep up to date on what might be coming. While it won’t be as in depth as the hurricane trackers listed it may give you an early heads up and it will at least tell you when you’re not going to be having a hurricane, which is good enough news to have this app on your phone.

HurricaneSoftware.com’s iHurricane With Push
Free version of a hurricane tracking software. With this app you get a very detailed view of a hurricane and can hopefully see the forcasted path of the hurricane. Don’t count on an app or forecasts to be perfectly accurate but at least this app will help you make informed decisions about your plan of action.
Wind Speed (tornado, storm, hurricane, tsunami)
Yup, you can use your iPhone mic to determine wind speed. While it won’t get you rediculously accurate results you can at least measure up to 100mph and once over that just tell your friends it was bad… very very bad.
