Handwriting iPhone app lets you write like a 5-year-old

In a side-by-side comparison of my terrible in-person handwriting and my terrible iPhone Handwriting app handwriting, I was surprised to find that the Handwriting lets you use your finger to compose “handwritten”  notes on your iPhone. Now, the iPhone screen is pretty small, so your notes end up being one or two words long. You couldn’t exactly compose a lengthy diatribe, but if you felt like attaching a signature to an email, or making a handwritten smiley face on the end of your tweet, you could certainly do that.

In fact, the best feature of the iPhone app is the export feature, where you’re able to email, tweet, or post your handwriting to Facebook to whoever you’d like. While ultimately trivial, it would be sort of fun to send out silly drawings or notes to your friends’ Facebook walls.

Ultimately, trivial is probably the name of the game for Handwriting. It’s not particularly practical to write serious notes with this, especially with a frustrating undo feature that makes you shake your phone to erase something you’ve written; but still, Handwriting could be enjoyable for jokes or minor pleasantries.
