“Grey’s Anatomy” apps for iPhone will help feed your obsession

It didn’t take long for ABC’s hit show Grey’s Anatomy to make us forget all about our other favorite medical drama, ER. But with a cast filled with one Dr. McDreamy after another, who can blame our memory loss?

Now you don’t have to wait for Thursday night to get your Grey’s Anatomy fix. Put your iPhone to good use by downloading the following apps. They will allow you to absorb every aspect of the show, whether it be by watching entire episodes, or quizzing yourself on characters, love triangles and medical procedures.

To get things rolling, go ahead and add the Hulu Plus app (free) to you phone. It will allow you to watch episode after episode of Grey’s, and many other shows that catch your fancy.

Now, it’s time for quotables, and we recommend the Grey’s Anatomy Quotes app (99 cents). Meredith or Derek or Cristina or Bailey always say something profound: Something that applies to that particular episode, but can also be applied to life in general. This app is full of them. Our favorite? Meredith: “We’re human. We make mistakes. We mis-estimate. We call it wrong. But when a surgeon makes a bad judgment call, it’s not as simple. People get hurt. They bleed.”

Die-hard fans can test their knowledge with several different apps, including the Grey’s Anatomy Pop Quiz app (99 cents), the Grey’s Anatomy Quiz app (99 cents) and the Grey’s Anatomy Trivia app (99 cents).

The Pop Quiz app is reminiscent of your elementary school days, as the questions are written on an old chalk board. Unfortunately, the app just tells you that you have answered incorrectly without providing you with the correct answer. The most challenging of the apps is the second of the bunch, the Grey’s Anatomy Quiz. But the most fun is the trivia app, which presents you 10 questions rapid-fire style, and congratulates you when you are through!

It would be remiss to write about Grey’s Anatomy apps without mentioning an app for its successful spin-off show, Private Practice. Who can forget Derek’s ex-wife, Addison, showing up to rain on the parade? The Private Practice app (99 cents) is almost identical to the Grey’s Anatomy Quiz app, except that the hot doctors have different names.
