GRE Simulator a quiz master for your vocabulary

The name suggests it’s more comprehensive, but the GRE Simulator is only word-specific. The app has randomized, timed quizzes containing more than 4,800 antonyms and more than 2,900 analogies with words geared toward those frequently seen on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

At the end of each quiz, you get a percentage of correct answers and a complete list of correct and incorrect questions. You can bookmark any words you’d like to review again.

The GRE Simulator is great to have on-the-go to fill spaces in your day if you’re preparing to take this exam. I did not take the GRE immediately after using this app, so I cannot speak to the entire usefulness of it on exam day.

I can say that the quizzes are certainly the most useful portion of the GRE Simulator. You can search by word or lists of words alphabetically, study up and then take the quiz. You can also search through the 8,000-word dictionary of what the app claims are the “must learn GRE vocabulary words.”

I expected the app to have small tutorials or tips and tricks, but it did not. It’s pretty straight-forward, just a database of words and quizzes. The GRE Simulator provides a good grasp of where you are and easily allows you to assemble a list of words that need more work.
