I love a good scoop. Even more so if that scoop is about an entertainer I love to hate.
Thanks to the rise and popularity of blogs, I can get all kinds of juicy tidbits, from baby-bump rumors to mundane details of celebrity lives. On your iPhone, several apps can dish the celebrity news and lately I’ve been using Gossip Junkie.
This iPhone app aggregates several gossip blogs, all appealing to your guilty pleasure. There are icons at the bottom of the screen representing the blogs, from Page Six to Perez Hilton. Click an icon and you are taken to the full mobile website featuring the gossip you crave.
If Gossip Junkie does not have the gossip blog you follow, you can provide the URL and add it to the app’s homepage.
My only misgiving about Gossip Junkie is its limited ability as an actual blog aggregator. I would love to read individual stories from any given blog instead of having to be redirected to a mobile site for each publication. With it’s 99-cent price tag, I would also like to have some blog reader features, including one that keeps track of stories I have already read or a way to share stories with friends.
