Give your pics a ride with PhotoRocket app

There never seems to be a break in the search for better ways to upload pictures to your favorite photo-sharing sites such as Facebook and Flickr. Although this app is just another photo uploader in the lineup, it does things in style. PhotoRocket (free in the App Store) is a sleek photo-uploading app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iOS 4.0 or later. This lightweight app probably will be replacing your current photo uploader if you’re looking for a nice third-party app for your pics to ride to the web.

The layout is easy and intuitive. When you tap the app, it will ask you to sign up for an account. Despite my dislike for creating accounts with anyone for any reason, I was OK with this one as soon as I saw the app. The interface is dark with a half-wheel at the bottom containing all the functions of the app. The process is simple: Take a pic or pick some from your albums, add a destination and some notes if you like, and push the “Share Photos” button.

The thing I really loved about this app was the time they took to put in the details. When you’re selecting pictures, they drop down into a coverflow animation. Each picture you select gets added to it — great detail and gorgeous graphics. The only thing about the app that I thought could have been done better was adding a quick link to Twitter. But if that’s the only thing they need to improve on, they’re doing just fine.

Check this app out! If you upload pictures to the web or are constantly emailing them out, I would definitely recommend this app. It’s free and easy, and it looks like the developers are even working on a desktop extension for the app.
