Get Easy Abs the hard way by working for them

Winter provides the perfect opportunity to work on that beach body you covet so badly. Months of hard work and a healthy diet and when it’s finally time to pop that top off in the spring, you’ll be sure to turn a few heads. Easy Abs is perhaps your first step to a newer, better you — and it’s a pretty good first step.

Easy Abs tailors its workout regimen to its individual user, so the first thing you’ll do when loading the app is create a fitness profile. Users enter their name, height, weight and age, and then choose their fitness level, the length of their desired workout (from three minutes to eight minutes) and the equipment they have at their disposal.

While it would probably help if you have the laundry list of items that Easy Abs suggests — like a core board, dyna-disc and medicine ball — even some dumbbells and a chair will get you a solid ab-crunching workout.

Once your profile is complete, it’s on to the exercises. As you go through your workout, a video plays that demonstrates the proper way to perform each maneuver while a voice narrates how much time you have left before the next set. The mix of audio and video help strikes a nice balance that gives users the ability to look at their iPhone to check their progress while also providing the audio updates that ensure you can stay focused on the exercise at hand.

If that wasn’t enough, Easy Abs also tracks a calendar of your progress, so you can see how often you’ve been putting in work at your handheld gym. Of course, this might also discourage you if you haven’t been checking the app enough, but I suppose there’s good in that, too.

If you’re the type of person who finds it hard to make it to the gym, but still wants to work up a bit of a sweat, Easy Abs is a nice way to keep yourself active in the winter. It probably won’t turn you into an extra in a gladiator film, but it might keep a few winter hibernation-related pounds off.
