Front & Center: Apps on my Front Page

Zipcar

When my boyfriend and I moved from Colorado to Portland, OR, we ditched his car (and I was already car-less). Living in Portland, it’s pretty easy to get around without owning a car, and having a Zipcar membership really helps.

The app lets us search for available cars nearby, as well as make and extend reservations. Even cooler? Once you’re near the car, you can honk the horn and unlock the doors — from your iPhone.

Echofon for Twitter

Yes, I’m addicted to Twitter. Yes, it’s one of the first things I check in the morning when I get up. No, I’m not ashamed to admit that.

Twitter

Yes, I have two Twitter apps. I’m trying to see which one I like better – have been using Echofon for a long time now, but I use Twitter’s desktop app on my Mac and wanted to see if the iPhone app was any better than Echofon. So far, it’s not. But I’m giving it a shot.

Skype for iPhone

I actually don’t usually keep this one front and center, but moved it when I was traveling and was chatting a lot during airport wait times.

Instagram

Best pictures and lens filters ever. I love this app, and love how hazy and gorgeous it makes my photos.
